How it was developed
Omnilux Revive phototherapy treatment was developed by Manchester University in conjunction with the two leading cancer prevention companies in the United Kingdom.
The Omnilux light source technology has been used for more than 10 years. Based on research in these areas, Omnilux was further developed as a non-surgical light therapy to complement the body's own natural ability to refresh the skin and help minimise the visible signs of ageing.
The purity and effectiveness of the light means that it can be used alone or with a variety of quality skin care products and cosmetic procedures to further enhance their effect.
What is Omnilux Revive?
Omnilux Revive is neither a laser nor an IPL treatment - it is non-invasive and requires no recovery time. Suitable for both men and women, treatment is usually paired with professional salon facials for maximum results of refreshed healthier looking skin. It may also be used to accelerate healing from laser, IPL, microdermabrasion and other cosmetic treatments.
The most exciting thing about an Omnilux Revive treatment, however is that apart from the fantastic results, it is non-invasive and does not generate heat. In fact the whole treatment, particularly when combined with a facial or reflexology, it is also an amazingly relaxing experience.
How does Omnilux Revive work?
In simple terms, Omnilux Revive is a deeper massage for the area of the skin that a therapists' hands can't reach, working to plump up skin naturally - similar to how photosynthesis works in plants.
How long is a session with Omnilux Revive?
The first treatment takes 45 minutes, allowing for the initial consultation. Ongoing treatments are typically 30-minute appointments, which include 20 minutes of light therapy.
What can Omnilux Revive do?
Omnilux Revive is particularly effective on sun damaged ageing skin. Try a single treatment as a great pick-me-up or in addition to a specialised skin care treatment. For enhanced results on fine lines and wrinkles, a course of 9 (minimum 6) is recommended. Add 3 MD Formulations Alpha Beta peels to increase the benefits. Home care and daily use of a zinc-based SPF 30+ sunscreen is essential.
What results can I expect?
Many clients experience an immediate effect, however, every client is different. Skin usually looks clearer, brighter and smoother after the first treatment. The length of the course, and the client's individual skin type and texture will determine the overall results.
How many courses are recommended?
Omnilux Revive can be a single treatment or a course of treatments. A typical course is usually six to nine treatments, however a course of nine is recommended for those concerned with fine lines, wrinkles and uneven skin tone.
Once you have completed your course, maintenance treatments on a four to six week basis, will help to prolong the results.
Is there a recovery period?
There is no recovery time following an Omnilux Revive treatment.
Experiencing Omnilux Revive
You will feel a pleasant, warm feeling during your session under the light beam, as the light surrounds your face with thousands of light emitting diodes (LEDs) radiating pure red light. It is much like lying on the beach in the sun for 20 minutes without the harmful UVA, UVB or infrared radiation.
